On facing fears

I took a trek westward for #HEWeb18 in Sacramento earlier this week. But for me, this wasn’t just another trip or conference.

I shared on Facebook that I was anxious about this adventure. Will I get lost? Make tons of mistakes? Let my fear overshadow the fun I was supposed to have?

The short version is… When my stomach seems knotted and the little voice in my head starts chiming in with negativity, it’s probably a good sign I’m headed in a worthwhile direction.

Growth is hard. But building the best me I can be requires tackling that tension head on and standing tall in the face of fear.

Oh and about that trip… #CrushedIt! My HighEdWeb fam is the best, I adore Cali and I made a real impact on accessibility with my co-presenter Chris. You can get more deets in this wrap-up post.
